Legal considerations for artists and buyers
Support Local Art.com is dedicated to providing a quality service enabling artists to display their work online for a fee as outlined in the terms and conditions. Support Local Art.com is strictly and only a gallery service; Support Local Art.com does not buy and/or sell artwork.
- Artists are responsible for providing truthful & accurate details about their work and themselves.
- It is the artists' responsibility to ensure that information and artwork posted online matches what was provided.
- Support Local Art is providing a service for the public viewing of artwork and cannot be held responsible for image or intellectual property theft of or pertaining to displayed artwork.
- Artists are responsible for any and all legal issues concerning their work. This includes, but is not limited to, copyrights, legal ownership concerns, and intellectual property rights. This covers all issues directed to and/or from the artist.
- Any and all negotiations, payment terms, sales, returns, shipping costs, insurances and any other miscellaneous costs such as phone calls are strictly between the buyer and the artists.
- Artists are responsible for all tax, GST, PST etc, and other revenue issues concerning the sales of their artwork. Support Local Art.com's responsibility is limited to issuing a receipt to the artist for the display fees, as specified in the terms and conditions.
- Support Local Art.com has the right to remove any artist or artwork from the website at any time, at its discretion.
- Support Local Art.com is committed to keeping artwork available for viewing, but cannot be held responsible for lost 'online time' due to internet outages, or other technical issues.
- Artists may promote their artwork at other galleries, shows, and sales, both online and off. It is the artists' responsibility to ensure any other promotion sources being used do not have limiting or exclusive sales rights to your work.
- Artist views, comments, and opinions do not necessarily reflect the views of Support Local Art.
- Each artist remains independant of Support Local Art. Artists are responsible for their own business practices, ethics and conduct. Any such actions that may relect negatively on other artists utilizing Support Local Art, may result in the responsible artist being removed from gallery service. .
